Birthday, car update and visitors

This week was pretty relaxing without any baseball practice or games.

Friday was Cody's 12th birthday. It is so hard to believe that he is that old, seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.

Lee got off work early Friday and took the boys for haircuts, got them registered for summer basketball and then went to game stop. Cody got a few games that he wanted. A friend at work took me to pick up the car at lunch and then I went back to work. The shop only charged us $27 for the part that was needed, which I thought was great. They could have told us that there was a lot more wrong with the car and we would have believed them since we don't know any better. On my way home from work, I stopped and picked up brake pads for the van. Burlon called Thursday night and told me that him and Betsy would come Saturday morning and he would fix our brakes.
When I got home from work we went to pick up pizza and made a trip to the dollar store. Brady just thinks that the dollar store is the most wonderful place. We spend about $10 dollars on him and he gets a bunch of toys. Sam had $10 dollars and he bought me 2 ceramic dogs and got Lee a Father's day card. He put a $1 in the card. That was so sweet:-) We came home and I then went to Walmart to get groceries. I picked up an ice cream cake for Cody and we sang him happy birthday.

Saturday, Lee had a parade in Lockhart so he left for work around 5:30am. Burlon and Betsy arrived around 8am and Burlon got busy working on the brakes. After he got the first side off, he realized that the guys at auto zone gave me the wrong ones so Betsy and I went back to get the correct ones. We took one of the old ones with us to show the guy. We get back and Burlon has no other problems. We are so grateful that he helped us out. I took Burlon's truck to take Ashley to work. That is a great driving vehicle. I was a little nervous because it was so big but it didn't take long to get used to it. When I got back, the van was finished and the boys were ready to go swimming. Betsy and I took them to the pool while Burlon took a shower and a little nap on the couch. After we came home and we all changed me and the boys took Burlon and Betsy to lunch.

Lee called while we were there and he was done with the parade and on his way back to the facility. Burlon and Betsy left from the restuarant and headed home. Me and the boys came home and Lee arrived shortly after. We took a little nap and then me and Cody went to pick Ashley up from work. We went to Walmart because Ashley had wanted to get Cody a cell phone for his birthday. I chipped in and we got him a $60 prepaid one that came with 300 minutes. He thinks he is so big now. We wanted him to have one because he will be starting school sports this year and that way he can call us if he needs to. He took it to the playground with him today and called us twice just to see what we were doing:) We also got Lee 2 pairs of shorts and a shirt for Father's day.

Lee went into work for a few hours this morning. When he got home, I went and got my haircut. I came home and we just spent the day enjoying not having to run anywhere. I made him Taco salad for dinner, one of his favorites. After dinner, he took the boys to play basketball and I did a little yardwork. I finally remembered on Friday to get weed eater string so Lee put it on for me and I weedeated while they were gone. I also watered my little flower garden that I planted yesterday afternoon. It is really cute. I will take some pictures of it later this week.

Tomorrow is back to work, so I will close for now.

Love ya!!

You say we didn't do anything and then you wear me out telling about what all you didn't do much of!! How do you keep all those schedules stratight?!! I'm with Brady, I love the dollar stores - Dollar Tree is my favorite. Enjoy your "free" time. With signing the boys up for summer league, your free time won't last long!

That is so sweet that Sam gave Lee some of his money - what a sweet, sweet boy!
