Down time

Things have been rather slow the past couple of weeks.

The week after Father's day Sam had 2 practices and then a tournament in North Austin (38 miles) that began on Friday. The game was supposed to begin at 8pm but the teams that played before us ended up taking longer than expected. We arrive at the field at 7 so the team can practice. Cody, Brady and I just hang around and watch. While we are waiting, Cody calls Betsy to see when they are coming and she tells him that they will be here Saturday morning. He no sooner gets off the phone with her and there they are. The boys are so surprised. The game ends up beginning around 9:30. We win that game so we are scheduled to play at 12 on Saturday. We left the field and head home. We stop at Burger King to grab something to eat and then come home. It is almost 1am before we get to bed.
Saturday morning, Burlon, Betsy and the boys go to Cabella's and then head to the baseball field in North Austin. Lee and I get up and get ready then head on up there. We end up winning that game also so we are then scheduled to play on Sunday at 3pm. Betsy and Burlon leave and head back to Wharton after the game. We come and take a nap and then take the boys swimming.
Sunday, we all sleep late and then start getting ready. We arrive at the field in North Austin at 2pm. The game before us is in overtime so we don't begin playing til around 4pm. We lose that game but still have to play another one that should have started at 5pm but since we got started late for the first one, we began playing at 6pm.
After the first game, I had to go pick up Ashley in South Austin. She had be in Edinberg for a STAR leadership conference all weekend. We went back to the field and watched the second game. We were behind 25-12 at the beginning of the 5th inning. We started catching up and were at 25-22 after that inning. During the 6th inning we held them and then scored 2 runs for a 24-25 score and then we got our last out. So we ended up coming in 2nd for the tournament. Our team received medals and were not too disappointed. Since we didn't come in 1st, we don't advance. It was kind of bittersweet for us parents because we were all so ready to be done, but we wanted our kids to have the experience.
After a long weekend the week seems to drag by. I was so looking forward to the weekend. On Friday I began having some tooth pain and decided to suck it up hoping it would go away. By Friday night, I was miserable. Dumb me, thats what I get for putting it off. The whole weekend was miserable. I spent most of my time taking whatever I could find around the house to ease the pain. I slept a whole lot and had an ice pack on my cheek. So, Monday when I get to work, I call my dentist and they tell me that even though I am an established patient, they are no longer accepting my dental insurance. GREAT!!! I call another dentist that is closer to my work and they tell me that I would have to call my insurance company and have them add their dentists name to my plan. I finally get that taken care of only to have the dentists office tell me that they can't see me until the 8th. I was in tears. They told me to call another one of their offices to see if I could get in sooner. Finally, at 2:30, I was told that they had an opening at 3. I left work in a hurry. After the xrays, the dentist tells me that I have an infection and we can either do a root canal and I would have to pay $842 that day or we can pull it and I will pay $93. I opted for the extraction. Not only was it cheaper, but it was the fastest way to get relief. I left the dentist at 4:15 with a numb mouth (I was feeling no pain). I headed home and stopped to get Brady. After I got home, I decided to go ahead and get groceries since I needed to pick up my pain medicine and my mouth was numb anyway. Ashley goes with me and we pick up pizza on the way home.
This week has been much better. We have taken the boys swimming. Tuesday night, Cody, Lee and I walked 1 1/2 miles. Tonight we walked only 1. We have been really watching what and how much we eat. Hopefully we can lose some weight.
Tomorrow, I get off work at 3 and don't have to be back until Monday. Friday morning Lee has a parade in Sequin with the bootcamp and then we are going to BBQ. A friend of mine from work is coming over. Then we will probably take the kids to the river to watch the fireworks if they still have them with it being so dry. Saturday, we are headed to Wharton to see the family and Sunday we plan on being lazy.
I will try to take pictures this weekend and upload to my next post.
Love ya!!
