Woohoo!!! 2 posts in a week:)

Just want to let everyone know that Brady's cut is healing very well. The stitches are beginning to fall out and it looks wonderful!!

So far this week has been pretty laid back. Lee and Ashley are working tonight so it is just me and the boys.

Cody has his orthodontist appointment tomorrow morning which Lee will take him to. He probably has another year to wear them. I know that he will be excited to get them off.

Hope all is well with everyone:) Have a good week!!

Surprise

Ok, I know that it has been a long time in between posts. I am not even going to try and remember all that has happened. So I will start with this past week.

Saturday morning, Brandy and I got up early and headed to a friends house near Bastrop. She highlighted both of our hair. While each of us waited for the other to get done, we got the feed her boxer puppies. The mom isn't producing enough milk for them so they are now being fed with baby bottles and puppy formula. They were so cute!! We finished there and came home. Brandy had invited a few friends over for a BBQ, so we got things ready for that.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day until around 5pm. Brady had been down the street playing with some kids when the other boys decided that it would be fun to hit a piece of metal with a metal bat. Well, Brady was only watching and when they hit the metal, it flew up and caught Brady by his left eye. He calmy walked home, stopping at Brandy's on the way to show them. He came in the house and said "mom, dad" and I hear Lee yell "what happened". I had been in the kitchen and when I walked into the living room, I freaked out. He had a big gash and was bleeding everywhere. I hurried and got my shoes on and turned off the stove. Lee got a towel and held it on Brady's head and got him in the car. Brandy and Dan were waiting at the end of their driveway and as I drove by, they told me they would put the half-cooked food away and feed Cody and Sam. We spent 3 hours in the ER and came home with 13 stitches. The doctor said he was very lucky that it didn't get his eye. He did really good and didn't even flinch as they stitched him up. Of course they numbed it with some gel and made us wait 45 minutes before they began.
Here is a picture after he is all stitched up:

It's not a really good picture, but I took it with my phone. Monday, I kept him home from school and gave him motrin every 6 hours. I called his teacher to let her know and she said that some kids had already told her.
He went to school the rest of the week but didn't participate in PE, since I didn't want to take the chance of him getting hit. The stitches should fall out in 7-10 days so we don't have to have a follow-up visit. He will probably have a nice looking scar, but hopefully it will fade as he grows. I am also going to get some vitamin E to put on it.

Brandy and I joined a gym at the beginning of January and go at least 3 times a week. Usually on the way home from work. I haven't really lost much weight, but can tell in some of my clothes. I know that if I just continue to go, I will see some results.

Betsy and Burlon came up yesterday to visit. They boys really love having them here. They went to the river around 5 yesterday, while I was on my way to the gym. They boys take their BB guns with them and the dogs just love to run and play in the water. I was home when they came back, so we went to dinner and then came home and chilled. Today was pretty relaxing and they left around 5. I did some laundry and a little cleaning.

Lee has been working on Tuesdays, Thursday and every other Saturday the 2-10 shift because he is training a shift supervisor. I hate him not being home with us but it won't be much longer.

Next Saturday we are going to the Sherwood Forest Faire in Paige. Not sure what it is going to be like, since we have never been. But Lee found a flyer for it and we decided that the boys would really like it. We are all looking forward to it.

All the kids are doing great in school. Ashley was on Spring break this past week and the boys are out this coming week. Cody doesn't want to be since he now has a girlfriend. They have been boyfriend/girlfriend for a couple of months. Her name is Daisy and is really cute. I can't believe that my little man is growing up:(

Hope all is well with everyone.
Love,
Becky

Finally......

Ok, I am the worlds worst at keeping this updated. I am going to try and remember all that has happened and probably won't go into detail on many things.

The boys, Brandy and I went to Huntsville for Shawn's wedding on August 29th. We were moving into a bigger place that same weekend so Lee stayed here and moved alot of our stuff.

Sam finished up basketball and now Lee is playing football with the bootcampers at his work.

The boys started school on the 24th of August and Ashley started college at Texas State on the 26th. Cody is in 8th, Sam in 6th and Brady is in 1st. Ashley is enjoying the freedom she has with her classes, she is taking 13 hours and continues to work full time, mostly on the weekends. She finally bought her own car (the other died almost a year ago) and a new laptop. She is such a hardworker, we are so proud of her.

Today is Brady's birthday. My little man is 7. Where did the time go?? Anyway here are some pictures of his birthday:

The cake:

The birthday boy and girl:

Opening presents:

Since Mamaw's birthday was yesterday, we sang her "Happy Birthday" and let her open her present.

Tonight we just chilled and watched the Longhorn game:)
Hope all is well with everyone else.

Camping and other things!

Alot has happened since my last post.

July 24-27th we went camping at Inks Lake State park near Burnet. Thursday night we got both of the vehicles loaded. Friday morning we were up early and left here @ 6am. We stopped and got gas and then headed out. We arrived at the park around 8:15 but were told we had to wait until 9 even though we had reservations.
Hanging out while waiting:

Setting up camp:

After we got camp setup, we went back into town to eat lunch and get supplies for the weekend. There was a burn ban so we were not allowed to have any open flames so we bought a camp stove and electric frying pan.
Friday afternoon, we went to the Devil's watering hole and swam. Brandy's kids loved to jump off the cliff into the water while mine were a little more reserved. I didn't take my camera down to the water because I didn't want it to get wet.
Friday evening we made hobo hash in the dutch oven and just chilled.
Saturday morning we got up and just hung out at the camp and then decided to go back to the Devils Watering hole. Brady did jump with Ben this time. It is about a 100 or more feet above the water and I was real scared. He did great but didn't want to do it again:)
Random pictures:

Saturday night we had sausage wraps and when it got dark, we roasted marshmallows by the camp stove. Not as much fun, but the kids didn't seem to care.
Sunday morning, Brandy took the kids that wanted to fish with her. Lee, Dan, Cody, Nate and I went for a 2 1/2 mile hike.
Some pictures from our hike:

When we returned, we ate lunch and then took the kids to the swim beach. For dinner that night, we had fajitas and smores.
Monday morning, we got up and broke down camp while Brandy made breakfast. Before leaving, we went back to the swim beach and then took showers before heading home. We got home around 3 and took much needed showers and naps. We had a wonderful relaxing time. Did I mention that Lee intentionally left his work phone at home? I was so proud of him.
Brady on the way home:

Last weekend, Lee and I went to dinner and a movie for our Anniversary that was on the 29th. Wow!! 14 great years!! Ashley was home with the boys. The movie started at 10:10 and Sam started messaging me around 12 wondering where we were. I thought that staying up worrying was my job:)

Sam has had basketball practice on Wednesdays and games on Saturdays. He only has 2 more games left. Then Cody and Sam will start with the Hays county league.

This past Friday, Lee took Cody for what we thought was just a routine orthodontist appointment, but he ended up getting his top braces. I called Cody after he got home and had him take Ibprofen. They told him that he should get the spacer out either next appointment on September 30th or the one after that. He is pretty excited about that since I am sure it probably really bugs him. He has his sports pyhsical on the 20th, which Lee will take him to that.

Friday night, Dan, Brandy, Lee and I went to the Comedy Club in Austin. A friend that we work with was celebrating her birthday there. We had a great time and was home by 11pm.
Brandy, Audra, me and the comedian Mike Lukas:

Today, I went to church and then took a nap. We cooked steaks on the grill and after dinner we took the boys to DQ for Blizzards.
School starts here on the 24th. I went to Walmart last night and bought some of their school supplies. I ended up getting probably over half of what they needed and plan on getting the rest next week.
Overall, it has been a good past few weeks.
Hope all is well!!
