Surprise

Ok, I know that it has been a long time in between posts. I am not even going to try and remember all that has happened. So I will start with this past week.

Saturday morning, Brandy and I got up early and headed to a friends house near Bastrop. She highlighted both of our hair. While each of us waited for the other to get done, we got the feed her boxer puppies. The mom isn't producing enough milk for them so they are now being fed with baby bottles and puppy formula. They were so cute!! We finished there and came home. Brandy had invited a few friends over for a BBQ, so we got things ready for that.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day until around 5pm. Brady had been down the street playing with some kids when the other boys decided that it would be fun to hit a piece of metal with a metal bat. Well, Brady was only watching and when they hit the metal, it flew up and caught Brady by his left eye. He calmy walked home, stopping at Brandy's on the way to show them. He came in the house and said "mom, dad" and I hear Lee yell "what happened". I had been in the kitchen and when I walked into the living room, I freaked out. He had a big gash and was bleeding everywhere. I hurried and got my shoes on and turned off the stove. Lee got a towel and held it on Brady's head and got him in the car. Brandy and Dan were waiting at the end of their driveway and as I drove by, they told me they would put the half-cooked food away and feed Cody and Sam. We spent 3 hours in the ER and came home with 13 stitches. The doctor said he was very lucky that it didn't get his eye. He did really good and didn't even flinch as they stitched him up. Of course they numbed it with some gel and made us wait 45 minutes before they began.
Here is a picture after he is all stitched up:

It's not a really good picture, but I took it with my phone. Monday, I kept him home from school and gave him motrin every 6 hours. I called his teacher to let her know and she said that some kids had already told her.
He went to school the rest of the week but didn't participate in PE, since I didn't want to take the chance of him getting hit. The stitches should fall out in 7-10 days so we don't have to have a follow-up visit. He will probably have a nice looking scar, but hopefully it will fade as he grows. I am also going to get some vitamin E to put on it.

Brandy and I joined a gym at the beginning of January and go at least 3 times a week. Usually on the way home from work. I haven't really lost much weight, but can tell in some of my clothes. I know that if I just continue to go, I will see some results.

Betsy and Burlon came up yesterday to visit. They boys really love having them here. They went to the river around 5 yesterday, while I was on my way to the gym. They boys take their BB guns with them and the dogs just love to run and play in the water. I was home when they came back, so we went to dinner and then came home and chilled. Today was pretty relaxing and they left around 5. I did some laundry and a little cleaning.

Lee has been working on Tuesdays, Thursday and every other Saturday the 2-10 shift because he is training a shift supervisor. I hate him not being home with us but it won't be much longer.

Next Saturday we are going to the Sherwood Forest Faire in Paige. Not sure what it is going to be like, since we have never been. But Lee found a flyer for it and we decided that the boys would really like it. We are all looking forward to it.

All the kids are doing great in school. Ashley was on Spring break this past week and the boys are out this coming week. Cody doesn't want to be since he now has a girlfriend. They have been boyfriend/girlfriend for a couple of months. Her name is Daisy and is really cute. I can't believe that my little man is growing up:(

Hope all is well with everyone.
Love,
Becky

Betsy let up know of Brady's accident. We just thanked God it didn't get his eye. You know he'll love the scar - make him manly-looking! Can't believe Cody has a girlfriend! I'm sure he would be mad if he knew you told the world :)

Looking forward to seeing you in April
