Baseball, visitors and car trouble....

This weekend was busy but good. Betsy, Burlon and Travis came in around 3am Saturday morning. We were all up before 8 am getting ready. We headed to get the guys haircuts and then off to the games.
Brady's game was at 10am. He did really well (I think he was showing off for Grandma and Grandpa). He even got to be catcher for an inning. Grandpa was acting as the "bat boy" because he wanted to be closer to the action so he could take pictures.
Sam's game was at 11:45. He got to pitch and had a great game also.
Cody didn't have a game on Saturday but has one tomorrow night.

After the games, we went to eat lunch and then headed to the river. Lee, the boys and Travis went swimming but Betsy, Burlon and I just sat and watched. We spent about 2 hours at the river. We came home and decided to take a little nap before starting on the yard work.
Ashley came home around 6 and got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa. She even convinced Grandpa to rub her "aching" feet. Such a good Grandpa:)
Lee and I started the yard work and it only took us about 30 minutes. Then Lee decided that we all needed to go to the court and play basketball. Grandma, Grandpa, Cody & Travis were on one team and Lee, Sam and I on the other. It was hilarious:) Can you picture it?? My arms are still sore. We all had a great time. After the game we came home and chilled.
They left around 12 on Sunday. Lee went into work for a while. Ashley left for work around 4:30 and called shortly after saying that the car stalled at the stoplight close to her work. While Lee, the boys and I were on our way she called work and 2 of the guys came and pushed her off the road and took her to work. We got to the car and Lee had a hard time starting it. He finally got it started and had to keep his foot on the gas to keep in running, it then started running fine. I was thinking that maybe it was bad gas since Ashley had filled it up the night before. We decided to just make a break for it and I would follow him home. We were about 3 miles from home when he took the exit and pulled over into a gravel lot. He said that it just died on him. We opened the hood to see if we could figure it out (can you picture that??) He then got in and tried to start it, at that time, I see water spewing everywhere. We looked and the water reservoir has a huge crack in it and water is everywhere. At that point we suck it up and sadly realize that we are not mechanics:( I called the repair shop that was 2 blocks away and we left. They went and got it at some point last night and called me this morning to tell me that we have blown head gaskets, need a new water pump, water reservoir and radiator. She then proceeded to tell me that it would be $1800 after all is said and done. I nearly fainted:)
I had to get a ride to and from work so Lee would have the van to pick up Brady and take Sam to practice.
So, even though we had a good weekend, my day has been horrible. Work was crazy! and I hardly slept last night. I have given it to God and know that he will take care of us.
Ok, enough of my drama. Hope everyone else had a good weekend and are doing fine.

Love ya!

Well, I hope we get to see you all this weekend, at the shower, despite the car problems. It has been a while.

I do enjoy the pictures and your stories. I'm so sorry about Ashley's car - what a bummer.
